Bryan J. Rader, CEO
Bryan J. Rader is the new Chief Executive Officer of Mosaic Broadband. In this capacity, his prior experience as both a cable TV operator in the MDU sector and as an industry consultant make him a uniquely well-positioned leader.
In 2007, Bryan founded Bandwidth Consulting LLC to provide industry-wide guidance and assistance with strategic business planning and operational challenges. Prior to this work, Bryan founded MediaWorks, an Atlanta-based, private cable company start-up in 1996. At the time of it’s sale to DirecPath in 2006, Mediaworks had become the largest PCO in the southeastern United States, serving more than 50,000 MDU units throughout the region. His company, MediaWorks, earned the national "Cable Company of the Year" award three times since 2000.
Also, Mr. Rader was selected as one of the 25 Most Influential People in Real Estate & Technology.
Prior to MediaWorks, Mr. Rader worked for two different real estate organizations, including AIMCO, a national publicly-traded real estate investment trust (1994-1996) and HOMECORP, a southeast regional property owner (1991-1994). At both companies, he was responsible for all ancillary income, technology support and service/marketing programs for MDU properties nationwide.
His career began in marketing research/consulting for national consumer brands and Fortune 500 companies such as AT&T, Nestle and Monsanto.
Bryan writes a monthly column for Broadband Properties called "From The Operators' Point of View" and is currently the President of the Independent Multi-Family Communications Council, the leading trade organization for the industry, based in Washington D.C. He is also a frequent speaker to the multi-family technology industry and has spoken at numerous events including NMHC Technology Forum, Sky Forum, National Apartment Association, Broadband Summit and ISPCon.
He earned his degree at the University of Missouri – Columbia in 1988.
Scott Tolleson, Chairman
Scott Tolleson is a media and technology entrepreneur who has founded several business start-ups, primarily in the technology and communications markets.
Scott's most recent venture is Digital Services LLC, a cable television company serving the multi-family apartment industry. Prior to Digital Services, he founded Media.net Communications, Inc. in Los Angeles, a provider of telecommunications and software services to major entertainment production companies. Some of the company's projects have included the Harry Potter, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean series.
Scott also managed the cable modem and CLEC subsidiaries of MediaOne. He also worked for AT&T and EDS as a management consultant developing new business strategies for media and communications companies, including Sony, Disney, Warner Bros., GTE, U.S. West, MGM, ChinaComm, and Polygram.
Scott received a B.Eng. in Computer Science and Math from Vanderbilt University and an MBA from the Darden Graduate School of Business.
John Mccann, Board Member
Mr. McCann retired as Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of United Dominion Realty Trust, Inc., in March 2001. Mr. McCann headed United Dominion, a NYSE-listed REIT located in Richmond, Virginia, as CEO for 27 years. Mr. McCann oversaw United Dominion's growth from $3 million in real estate investments in Virginia and three employees to more than $4 billion of apartments nationally and 2,500 employees at the time of his retirement. The company is often cited as the prototype for the modern real estate investment trust, a national, property-specific operating company with the investment capability to acquire and renovate and develop.
Mr. McCann was a long time member of the Board of Directors of National Multi-Housing Council, a trade association of large apartment owners, and chaired its Legislative and Tax Committee. He is also a member of the Urban Land Institute. Mr. McCann is on the Board of Directors of LandAmerica Financial Group, Inc., a title insurance holding company and was on the Board of Directors of Storage USA until its merger with Security Capital Group in 2002. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Commissioners of the Virginia Housing Development Authority, the Virginia state housing finance agency.
